WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION

Women in Construction Bar Graph

Women in U.S. Construction have taken a hit over the previous years due to the recession.

Since the peak of women participation in construction in 2007, more than 300,000 women workers have left the construction industry from that time until 2010 according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

As the economy begins to recover RK&G aims to be one of many women owned construction businesses that reverses this trend.

Only about 9% of US Construction workers are women. Whereas in other industries they consist of up to 59% of the work force. The number of female construction workers peaked at a little over a million in 2007 and we want to see these numbers again.

RK&G aims to help surpass these pre-recession numbers and become a force for women and community in our area. We will win more bids for public service jobs and grow as a company to make that dream a reality now.

If you’re interested in helping either by providing jobs or by being a hard worker yourself, give us a call/send us an email today.
